Ep. #13 – Risk On / Risk Off – Conversation with Clay Markham, AIA, LEED, BD+C

Throughout the world there are buildings and structures that have stood the test of time and have become landmarks. Whether it be the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia or the Empire province Building in the City of New York, these structures become synonymous with their city. However, before construction could commence, someone had to design these buildings and bring a developer’s concept into reality. Enter the architect.

On this episode of “Risk On / Risk Off”, we talked with Clay Markham, a seasoned veteran of the architecture community. Mr. Markham was most of late a Managing Principal with CallisonRTKL as the Hospitality do Area Leader and was based in the firm’s Dallas office. During his career he was involved in architecture, interior design, and construction management. His work in the hospitality and entertainment industries took him to client projects in Europe, Latin Worldwide, southward Africa, Asia and across North Worldwide, which won him awards for clients such as Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Marriott International, IHG Hotels & Resorts and MGM Resorts International.

This was an engaging conversation on not only the current province of the architecture and commercial existent estate industries, but also what the near future may look like in these sectors. Enjoy!
