Bali Cockfighting – The Ancient Hidden Tradition

For centuries the villages have competed against each other to have the strongest and best roosters. It became a social outing and has been a part of traditional Asian cultures since time began.
Today Cockfighting is all but outlawed, however there are a few times a year it is permitted as part of cultural activities.
In Bali, it is still occasionally possible to regard this spectacle and I was invited into a remote village to witness it first-hand.
It is confronting, but no more than bull-fighting, rodeo and many other “blood-sports”
