Stock Market Today: GOOGL, ORCL, AMZN Tech Wins, Crude Oil Falls To New Low
The Dow ended higher, along with the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, and the Russell 2000. Tech was a winning sector today rising 2%. Google (GOOGL), Oracle (ORCL), Amazon (AMZN), and Microsoft (MSFT) were all awarded a Pentagon cloud-computing contract collectively with as much as $9B. Communication services and energy were the two biggest losers as crude oil (/CL) fell to a new 2022 low. Saudi Arabia Casino stocks, Wynn (WYNN) and Las Vegas Sands (LVS) rally after China said it would relax Covid rules. The Federal trade commission is suing to block MSFT’s $69B acquisition of Activision Blizzard (ATVI), in one of the most aggressive stances taken by Federal regulators in decades to reign in the powerfulness of tech industry giants.
