يهدد خطر الانقراض وانتقاص الأعداد بعض أبرز حيوانات المنطقة العربية. هذه المحاضرة تركز على دور ومكان بعض هذه الحيوانات في الشعر العربي قبل الإسلام (الشعر الجاهلي) لتبيان أهمية هذه الحيوانات في الأدب العربي القديم تحفيزاً وتأكيداً على أهمية حمايتها وحماية بيئتها في عالم اليوم.

‏Join us on the virtual seminar Heritage and literature as Motives to preserve Endangered Animals in Arabia; A look into the book Wuhush al-Qasidah by Sayed-Ismail Behbehani.

‏Culturally important animals in Arabia have become endangered due to habitat and population loss. This seminar – relating on the book Wuhush al-Qasidah – will shed light on the prominence and roles some of those animals played in pre-Islamic (Jahili) Arabic verse, demonstrating their important place in Arabic literature. This will in turn would hopefully present the cultural significance of saving them from extinction. Related concerns regarding the conservation of wildlife and culture will also be presented.
